# Meta Packs & Time Packs

Packs are [loot boxes](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loot_box) that provide random cosmetic items. There are various types of Packs:

* Meta Packs, which by default are Rare, but Epic and Legendary ones may be offered in the [Store](https://apexlegends.fandom.com/wiki/Store) or during Events;
* Event Packs, which contain at least one item from the Event they come from;
