Games in the core competitive Battle Royale genre show huge growth potential in the future, especially on PC and mobile.
The key players in the Battle Royale Game Market are:
Tencent
Epic Games
NetEase
Electronic Arts
Activision
However, most popular titles are at least 5 years old and are declined in terms of active players. Battle Royale players also often play multiple titles at the same time.
Challenges Web3 Gaming Economics
Flawed Reward System in Game Mechanics. Many on-chain games have economies that are poorly designed, leading to unsustainable play-to-earn dynamics.
Short-term value extraction economic models. If all the winnings in a game continually boost the participants' earnings, the economy is bound to collapse eventually.
Unclear revenue models. Developers face a significant challenge when it comes to making sustainable business decisions in web3 games due to the complexity of revenue generation.
High volatility. The value of assets in on-chain games can be highly volatile, leading to unpredictability and uncertainty for players.
Our Approach To Addressing These Challenges
Skill-Based and Challenge-Based Reward Systems
NFT and $SECOND Token will be only rewarded to top leaderboard Players.
The players or esports organization can host their own tournaments which use their own $SECOND tokens as the reward pool. MetaDOS will take 5% of the pool as the hosting fees.
Some NFTs could be claimed by reaching the max level of Battle Pass only, which requires the players' time and skill.
Certain NFTs have the potential for free evolution; however, players must complete an evolution quest, such as inflicting 100K damages while equipping that NFT.
Cosmetic Based Economy
Web3 gaming is much more than play-to-earn and NFTs are much more than a payment wall. At MetaDOS, our core design principle is fair play, and that's why we have created a "Cosmetic Based Economy" for our platform.
In games such as Axie Infinity or Genshin Impact, players have the opportunity to gain a significant advantage by purchasing the strongest heroes, items, or even NFTs. In other hand, free-to-play cosmetic economies like League of Legends, Fortnite, or Valorant, the skins purchased by players from the game studio are not actually owned by them and will be removed if the games are shut down.
At MetaDOS, all the Collectibles are cosmetic based, such as skins, takedown animations or artworks. They don't impact anything to the game balance while giving the players unique appearance and visual effect. Some key points:
Cosmetic Items are limited whether they are on-chain or off-chain items. For example: If the total supply of Skin A is 100: The total off-chain Skin A + Total on-chain Skin A = 100
We'll create a system for user-generated content (UGC) where creators can submit cosmetic designs and players can vote for their favorites.
All the Collectibles are Omnichain NFT and the owners could bridge to any chain thanks to LayerZero protocol.
NFT Are The Additional Revenue Source
Most web3 games rely solely on NFTs or tokens for generating revenue, which limits their ability to create a sustainable system from the game itself. And when the hype is over, their NFTs are inflated or reach high volatility, they couldn't survive.
At MetaDOS, we combine the traditional revenue models of web2 with the innovative new revenue model of web3. The flow will be described as below:
